How can you keep your skin looking taunt and clear without chemicals or plastic surgery? A healthy diet will do the trick! By simply modifying your diet you can banish breakouts, prevent fine lines and give yourself a youthful glow. Below are a few of my suggested foods that you should start adding to your diet now!
Green Leafy Vegetables: Whether it’s in a smoothie or one of your side dishes, adding this to your diet on a regular basis is beneficial to your waist line and skin too! Greens like broccoli kale, chard and collard greens increase the skins elasticity because it’s packed with lutein which converts to vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A improves how quickly the skin sheds dead skin cells offering a more even skin tone. Try making a delicious Swiss Chard with whole wheat pasta!
Avocados: Avocados really hydrates the skin and lessens inflammation, ideal for those with sensitive skin. Eating it works just as well as a applying it directly to the face. Try the DIY mask below for a quick pick me up!
- 1/2 an Avocado
- 2-3 drops of Apricot oil
- 1/2 a teaspoon of Honey
Berries: Can’t go wrong with berries! It can be consumed alone, in a salad or in a smoothie. Did you know that berries also help burn FAT! They prevent the breakdown in collagen and lessen free radical damage. Try making a ton of delicious smoothies that include cranberries, mulberries and blueberries.
