You’re body needs nourishment after an intense workout—but not to the point where you stuff your face and throw all your hard work down the drain.
What you eat post-workout can effect everything from how you lose weight to how you recover after exercising. Here are four food combinations that you snack on after you get your fitness on.
1. Classic brown paper bag lunch for protein and carbs: Turkey sandwich, an apple, and mini pretzels
2. Skip the added sugar in a regular energy bar: Walnut halves, dried cherries, and greek yogurt
3. Fuel up with “hot-dog” substitute: A whole-wheat hot-dog bun, nut butter, honey, and a banana
4. Support your muscles and get energized: Mix up some chocolate milk
