Are you having trouble taming your mane while at the gym? If you’re like me, your hair has a mind of its own. A ponytail simply won’t cut it anymore.
Whether you’re a yoga expert, a kickboxing fanatic, or a running junkie, you need options to keep you looking cool, calm, and collected even when you break a sweat. To help, we’ve explored some fun hairstyles to keep those strands in check:
Ponytail
This classic hairstyle has been used by gym goers everywhere, but there is nothing wrong with spicing it up a bit. Gather your hair up into a ponytail with an elastic. Then take a piece of hair, however much you’d like, from the bottom and pull it out of the elastic. Twirl the strand around the base of the pony covering the elastic and secure with a bobby pin.
Top Knot
This up-do has become increasingly popular when doing hardcore workouts. It works completely to keep all of your hair out of your face for free hands during exercises. It may look complicated, but it is probably the most simple of them all. Just pull your locks into a pony and twist around in a spiral motion securing with an elastic or twist band.
High Bun
Executed perfectly by ballerinas, you can also rock the high bun like a pro. Try a bold sock bun out for your next gym visit. The great part
about this style is that it doesn’t dent your hair leaving your locks free with curls when taken out. All you need is an old sock that is close to your hair color. Check out this sock bun tutorial by Alicia Bell that helped us out!
Braids
Braids are definitely making a comeback. Using this type of style for a gym session is easy and convenient. Whether you want one big braid, two pigtail braids, or one small one to pair with your pony, it takes little to no time at all. Try out a fun side braid that works for most hair lengths. Add a cute headband to hold back excess strands of hair.
