Even if you’re not a football fan, the Super Bowl is a fun affair for everyone. From friends and food to the many commercials, there is no excuse for this sports-filled day to knock you off your healthy eating schedule.
If you’re headed to a Super Bowl party this Sunday, read up on a few ways to help you stay on track with your weight loss goals while still having a good time:
Reality check!
Most of the time, the Super Bowl festivities revolve around an ungodly amount of food. Usually, this food is anything short of bad for you so the trick is to keep reminding yourself of that. Just because there is a bunch of food calling your name, doesn’t mean you have to eat it. Choose wisely.
Bring a healthy dish
You may not be able to control what your friends bring for everyone to munch on, but you can decide on something healthy to bring yourself. Bring a treat you’ll feel good about eating. Some examples being spinach dip or these healthy nachos!
Don’t forget the H20!
OK, we have to admit that there is nothing like a cold beer to go along with those Super Bowl munchies. While one of two won’t hurt, be mindful of how much you consume. You could end up feeling bloated and no one likes that. Try alternating your indulgences with water.
The Super Bowl is supposed to be fun for everyone. So don’t be a Debbie Downer, you can still be the life of the party while still being health conscious. And for even more fitness fun, try our Super Bowl workout game!
