The LR Digital Team took a couple of field trips to our 42nd Street location to experience firsthand what these HIIT classes are all about.
Research confirms that your body burns more fat and calories by working out harder for a shorter period of time. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) pairs compound movements and bursts of cardio training to blast fat and kill calories. The result is a healthier, stronger, and sexier you.
Last Tuesday, we took the 12:15 pm HIIT class with Tracy. To say it was intense would be an understatement. We did 5 rounds of each of these moves for 50 sec each & 10 sec rest in between:
- shuffle side to side
- push-ups
- back lunges with bicep curl
- burpees
- squat with military press
My body was literally burning after we finished. It wasn’t pretty dripping sweat, but I was extremely proud of myself for getting through the entire class, which was only 25 minutes! I was feeling the soreness days after, but it’s totally worth it.
One of the great things about these classes is the fact that it’s as much about your mind as it is about your body. The motivation factor is huge! The instructors are constantly moving around the room pushing you to make it to the end. The countdown factor was also extremely helpful because when you realize you only have five more minutes left, you’re like “I got this!”
Yesterday we also got the chance to take a HIIT class taught by our VP of Operations, Barbara Pallante. That was definitely a workout!
