Finding the right undergarments for your workout can be a challenge especially if you are not sure what to be looking for. Whether you are seeking the right amount of support in your sports bra or underwear that won’t ride up it can get frustrating!
Below are a few things you want to consider when purchasing workout undergarments:
- Breathable: Breathable underwear allows efficient air flow keeping you drier during sweat sessions. Selecting underwear made from microfiber and cotton are key. You may also want to select pieces with built in mesh panels that assist in getting rid of excess moisture.
- Moisture Wicking: Materials include synthetics as well as treated nylon and wool. These are better options than cotton for moisture absorption. Wicking keeps moisture at bay so the body can remain dry while maintaining a stable body temperature.
- Comfortable: Avoid pieces that are too hugging and have poor ventilation. Micro thin underwear are perfect for someone that wants to avoid panty lines and not a fan of thong underwear.
- Supportive: Pick the right sports bra for the right workout. A bra you might wear for a yoga class would not be ideal for a kickboxing or zumba workout. Getting measured is always a good idea, most sports retailers will be able able to provide insight when selecting the right sports bra. While in the dressing room test the bounce factor with a few jumping jacks. Molded cups and underwire are ideal for bigger busts (C &D).
Here are a few of my workout picks!
