3 Healthy Spins On Classic After-School Snacks!

With the start of the school year around the corner, get ahead of the game by prepping a few of these tasty snacks for the youngsters or yourself!

These nutritious munchies will have the kiddies begging for more while still staying satisfied till dinner. Try whipping up these recipes:

This light snack offers a twist on the classic sushi roll. Choose your favorite raw veggies and wrap them in your go-to bread!

Ingredients:

  • 2 sandwich bread slices, flattened
  • 4 cucumber and 4 carrot matchsticks (each 6 inches long) or any other veggie you think will work
  • Cream cheese spread, (3 tablespoons cream cheese mixed with 1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream)

Peanut Butter and Jam Crepe Roll

Spice up that day old peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Use this easy-to-eat simple crepe recipe that everyone will love.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Simple Crepes
  • 1 tablespoon grape jam
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

Pizza Crackers

Try this quick and easy pizza snack as an  after school treat. Use your favorite pie toppings or even some deli meat!

Ingredients: 

  • 8 square whole-wheat crackers
  • 3 tablespoons jarred marinara
  • 3 tablespoons shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon thawed frozen chopped broccoli or other toppings
