Restaurants everywhere have been offering sweet potatoes as a healthy alternative to their more unhealthy french fry option. Find out three reasons why sweet potatoes will help you shed those pounds:

They contain fiber

Foods that are high in fiber are a foolproof way to control your hunger. It can help keep you feeling full for a longer amount of time. One sweet medium potato contains four grams of the nutrient! We’ll definitely be including this food on our dinner table!

They’re naturally sweet

No need to worry about a sugar overload here! Sweet potatoes make for healthy, low-calorie treat. They will end up solving your craving for salty or sweet foods.

They regulate blood sugar

Yes, sweet potatoes have their fair share of carbs. What food doesn’t? But they contain a compound that increases levels of adiponectin, the blood-sugar regulating hormone, in the body. They help prevent blood sugar spikes after you eat and regulated blood sugar levels can help get rid of those sugary cravings you get when your levels dip.
