With two Grammy’s under her belt, the ‘Stronger’ singer can let out some serious melodies. Ever since she won American Idol back in 2002, Kelly Clarkson has been hard at work singing, writing, and losing 18 pounds recently.
With her new song, a new TV show, touring, her recent engagement, and new hair, this pop-star has worked hard for her new physique.
While some people work extremely hard to be super skinny, Kelly doesn’t believe in that. “I’m not willing to do that. I’m willing to work a little bit because I want to be a healthy individual—which I always have been,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.
Yes, she had gained a few pounds, but who hasn’t? “I’ve put on weight, but that’s just what I’m happy with at that moment,” she says.
So what’s Kelly’s doing to get fit?
When asked about her method, the 30-year-old singer shared that she started working with a trainer who introduced her to portion control. “I just cut back my portions, I stopped eating late at night, worked out a little more than I used to, and I literally dropped 18 pounds in a month,” she explained to Cosmo.
Since getting engaged to beau, Brandon Blackstock, Kelly has been more motivated to get fit. “I think that happens when you fall in love or date someone. If I’m going to be messing around, I gotta look good.” We feel ya, Kelly!
In recent news, Clarkson has teamed up with Green Mountain Coffee to celebrate Fair Trade Month through “Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Choose Fair Trade,” an integrated awareness campaign designed to educate and inspire people to purchase Fair Trade Certified™ products.
