Labor Day is right around the corner so why not opt for a healthy treat to serve your party guests? Trail Mix is usually comprised of dried fruits, nuts, seeds, granola, coconut and a bit of sweet chocolate. It is said that some surfer buddies invented the snack back in the 60’s.
With National Trail Mix Day on Saturday, try whipping up this quick and easy recipe to keep them munching:
Ingredients:
You can choose up to 8 of the following using ¼ cup / 60 ml of each ingredient you choose.
- Mini pretzels
- Sunflower seeds
- Dried cranberries
- Dried apricots
- Raisins
- Dried pineapple
- Kashi Go-Lean cereal or other high-protein, non-fat, no-sugar-added cereal
- Dried cherries
- Clean granola of your choice
- Almonds
- Walnuts
- Cashews
- Mini, dark chocolate chips (only if it’s your treat day!)
Tip: Give your trail mix a flavor kick by choosing to coat it with olive butter spread, garlic powder, etc.
