“Meatball” no more, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi needs a new nickname! Ever since losing 42 pounds after giving birth to her first son, Lorenzo, last summer, this new mommy is working hard to keep her thin physique.
Who knew this Jersey Shore veteran could be so dedicated to shedding that baby weight? By dedicating herself to a strict fours-day-a-week program, Snooki looks fantastic. She says she lost the weight for herself and to let her hunky fiance, Jionni, know that she could be a hot mom. She definitely is!
Here’s how Snooki said bye-bye to that extra weight:
The first 20 pounds were the easiest to lose for Nicole. She lost all that just from breast feeding her little guy, but the next 22 were not as easy.
She committed herself to four days a week at the gym with her trainer, Anthony Michael, to focus mainly on strength-training and cardio. Her days usually consisted of plyometric work like jumping on and off elevated boxes and an added 20 to 30 minutes of inclined walking on a treadmill. Snooki also added some Zumba and kickboxing to her routine.
And here’s how she keeps all the weight off:
Getting to the gym more wasn’t the only thing Snooki had to tweak to shed those pounds. She also had to alter her diet by using Anthony Michael’s Express Home Meal plan. The meal plan included dishes like lettuce-wrapped burgers and chicken with strawberries. Snooki sticks to a strict 1,300 calories a day.
So what’s her secret? “I eat through the day so I don’t get hungry,” she told Us Weekly. Eating smaller portion meals throughout the day is known to help lose and keep off unwanted weight.
The 4’9″ beauty now weights in at a lean 102 pounds and says that she feels great. We think that if she had enough determination to leave her boozing lifestyle behind then she will certainly be able to keep up with her incredible body!
