I woke up to snow on the ground today and had a minor freak out knowing that winter is coming whether we all like it or not. Although it may seem as if fall just began, we should be preparing ourselves for the chilly months ahead starting with our skin.
With the harsh weather comes dry, scaly skin, so combat those symptoms by giving your skin a little TLC. Use these simple tips that will keep your skin looking healthy and vibrant all season:
1. Drink Coconut Water
If you’re not a big fan of coconut, you may just want to suck it up. This drink will not only quench your thirst, it will hydrate your body while helping to lock in the moisture. Spice up your everyday H20 routine with this refreshing elixir.
2. Remember Your Feet!
Many people get scaly and cracked skin on their feet, not even realizing it, during the colder months. To fight off those unwanted dry scales, exfoliate your feet then apply a moisturizer or foot balm. Finish off by slipping on some snugly socks and take a load off. Do this while watching TV or reading a book.
3. Apply Balm Before Bed
Chapped lips. Not everyone’s favorite symptom of the cold weather to deal with. All of the windy weather and breathing through your mouth can cause dry lips. While always keeping lip balm on hand is good, you should probably leave some by your bedside to make sure your lips stay moisturized through the night. Stay kissable this winter by doing so!
4. Don’t Forget Your Neck!
While it is important to moisturize your face no matter what time of year, it is especially so during the winter months. If you already have dry skin, try upping the amount you do so. But it is imperative that you do not skip out on your neck area. It ages too and should be moisturized daily just like your face.
