Chapped lips are awful! Probably one of the worst parts of the cold months to come, aside from annoying static hair, chapped lips come with the dry weather and wind. Seriously, what a downer.
Maybe you don’t know what is causing your dry, cracking lips, but the struggle to moisten your lips up this winter is real, so LR is here to help you smooth-en your pucker! Find out what may be causing your chapped lips below:
Are you using a lip product with drying ingredients?
Scented lip plumpers are great and all, but the cinnamates used in many prodcust can cause irritation. Try switching to a fragrance-free gloss with the shine creating a fuller put minus the dryness.
Are you exfoliating your lips with your face scrub?
As much as you may think you are helping your lips by using your face scrub, you’re not. By doing so, it actually breaks down the barrier needed to lock in moisture.
Do you use the right lip balm?
We suggest using a lip balm that’s petroleum-based or a natural alternative such as beeswax. We’re loving Burts Bees lip balm or Aquaphor Healing Ointment. These products will lock in moisture.
Are you feeling stressed out?
Take a deep breath. If you’re feeling stressed or irritated, your mood may be affecting your lips because people tend to bite and lick their lips when they are feeling such, causing them to get even dryer. Try to resist the habit and drink plenty of water to keep your lips hydrated.
