As much as exercise is good for us, that doesn’t mean we all have the time to spare to actually do it. It’s the sad truth.
Sure, there are all these new workouts designed to help you get fit in less time—we’re talking 20,25,30 minutes people! But sometimes that still won’t work for all of us.
If you find yourself crunched for time to get squeeze in a workout, try one of these three easy exercises you can do practically anywhere:
1. Chair Dips – Whether you’re stuck at home or at work, chair dips can always be done. They are ideal for strengthening your triceps and can be done just about anywhere—think when you’re busy on the phone trying to pay a bill or a conference call at work. Similar to other exercises, there are varying techniques that can either increase or decrease resistance—like switching up how you have your arms positioned on the chair.
2. Lunges – Body weight exercises are super helpful when it comes to toning up. Lunges are especially beneficial because they both strengthen your lower body and increase overall flexibility. We know these suggestions might seem a little ridiculous, but trust us, you’ll be glad you spent the time. You can lunge when you walk to the kitchen, to the driveway as you get the paper in the morning, or even when you walk from your desk to the water cooler at work.
3. Squats – Some people have a love/hate relationship with squats—and for good reason! The most important thing to keep in mind when doing squats is having proper form. If you don’t execute this move correctly, you won’t benefit from it. Squats are one of the most effective full-body exercises because they simultaneously work to build muscle and burn fat. Try doing this exercise while on a conference call, doing laundry or waiting for the train or bus.
