Here at LR we love a good smoothie just as much as the next fit girl, but having the right appliance is vital to enjoying your nutritious beverage.
These days blenders are one of the most high-tech tool in your kitchen—you can mix together whatever your heart desires in a matter of seconds! From fruit and veggies to nuts and seeds—even the most unusual add-ons (use your imagination!)—you can blend up anything you want.
So how do you choose the right one for your lifestyle? It may seem like a piece of cake, but these appliances vary between budgets and capabilities—you’ll need to know the how-tos of blending.
- A large pitcher is a good pick if you’re looking to replace a meal with a blended beverage. For example, if you’re whipping up a drink with some healthy spinach or kale, you’ll need ample amount of room in the container to fit what you’ll need. Size matters!
- You don’t want something that’s difficult to clean. There are all sorts of different designs, but ones that have flat button panels are much easier scrub excess grime off. If you have a larger sink then you’ll be able to buy a larger blender, too!
- 500 watts is usually the minimum you should look into buying—this is so you’ll have enough power to mix and blend nuts and other hard-grind foods.
- You should look into getting a blender that is able to crush and blend ice and other foods like coffee beans. Sure, coffee grinder can do this but who has time for that?
A blender is a good long-term investment that will help you diversify your meals and make prep easier. A couple of favorites of ours are the Nutribullet and the KitchenAid 5-Speed.
