Most people might want to gag at the mere though of brussels sprouts or kale, but it looks like this hybrid mix of the two has become a major hit.
Packed with vitamins and minerals, kale has recently been all the rage with health-conscious people all over the world. Brussels sprouts, while not as popular as its sister vegetable, has been around longer and is rich in vitamin C and K. I guess it’s no wonder why these two power house veggies were combined.
If you’re a fan of either kale or brussels sprouts, you should give kalette a try. Being sold at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, kalette said to have a slightly nutty taste that is milder than kale and less earthy than Brussels sprouts. Yummy!
But don’t underestimate this new comer—it has the potential to boost bone health and your vitamin C intake. Toss these mini-cabbage looking treats into your salad or drizzle a little olive oil, salt, and pepper as a side dish.
