What screams Valentine’s Day more than a bold red lip? We’d say nothing.
Red is a color many women think they can’t pull off, but the truth is that everyone can pull it off. First, you figure out what skin tone you are (light, medium, bronze, or dark), then choose which shade best suited for your tone you’d like to pucker up to.
So if you have yet to find the perfect hue for your skin tone, don’t fret. Find your best match with the help of these tips:
If you have light skin…
Light skin tones such as porcelain and fair should try a cool red with hints of plum or be a little daring with a warm red. Matte reds with a hint of orange look great too!
If you have medium or bronze skin…
Lucky you! Most shades work well with your coloring so don’t be afraid to go crazy. True reds, cranberry shades, and pink-based reds are a few that compliment your shade well.
If you have dark skin…
Darker complexions should stick with deep, rich colors like burgundy or warm brick—superbright ones can seem too harsh. Think fig, dark cherry, and dark jam and you’ll look flawless.
