One of my toughest hurdles to overcome is trying to maintain a fitness routine while on vacation. In the past two weeks, I have been on two business trips. Admittedly, I should bring workout clothes and use the hotel’s fitness center. Unfortunately, with my daughter accompanying me, that was not doable since I certainly couldn’t leave her in the room alone, and bringing her to the fitness center was also not an option since she loves testing out the machines. Needless to say, a child trying to use a treadmill is a safety hazard.
As I was visiting Baltimore and Philadelphia, both very walkable cities, I felt that walking umpteen miles was an okay way to stay active. But what to do about keeping up the weight training?
As I have read in so many fitness magazines, I decided to stop at the local drug store and pick up large bottles of water to do my upper body workout. Sounds so productive, right? And it was. I can’t say that I was working at my peak, but at least I did maintain a semblance of a workout, which made me feel good that at least I tried.
As I am off on another business trip next week, my goal is to find a fitness video to download!
