Below you will find 5 HIIT workouts that really gets your heart pumping.
Pushing your body physically to the anaerobic zone benefits the heart by making it stronger. These workouts also help to boost your metabolism, burn fat and the best part is no equipment needed! Try the routine below to get started.
Clapping Jacks: Standing with your feet together, similar to how you would perform a traditional jumping jack. Jack your feet apart while extending your arms outward to the side. As you jack your feet back in clap your hands in front of you keeping your arms straight. Perform this move for 1 min. Gate Swings: Standing with your feet together jump out wider than your hips landing in second position stance (toes pointed outward) lower your body into a deep squat. Place your hands or elbows right above each knee. Jump back in to complete one rep. Do this for 1 min.
Flutter Kick Squats: Start in a shallow lunge position with your right foot forward. In a quick burst jump and switch legs landing with the left leg forward. Repeat this action on the other side. For the third jump land into a deep wide legged squat position. This makes one rep. Repeat 8-12 times to get your heart rate up!
Burpee with Lateral Leg Raise: Stand in squat position with your feet hip width apart and place your hands on the floor in front of you. Thrust your legs out behind you so that you are in a push-up position. Pop back up, instead of jumping as you would with a traditional burpee, perform a lateral leg raise on the right and left. That will complete one rep. Perform this routine as many times as you can in 1 minute.
