Trainer Tip: How to Continue Exercising Once You've Started

Trying to get fit is a challenge, but staying fit can be more challenging. The majority of people have a hard time just getting the exercise process started. So how do you become an exercise enthusiast? The following are some tips to help kick-start your exercise routine:

1. Be consistent. Any exercise routine must be consistent. If you are going to start with walking on the treadmill 4 times a week for 30 minutes, you must continue to follow this routine. Once your body is ready for the next challenge, increase the time or start running.

 2. Set realistic goals. All bodies are NOT shaped alike. Start with losing a certain amount of weight and then work up to losing more if necessary.

3. Find a workout buddy. It’s always easier to work out if you have a friend or relative you can exercise together with.  It makes exercising more fun.

4. Make exercise fit into your life. That could mean joining a gym, jogging outside, or working out at home. You have to make it work around your daily schedule, otherwise, you’re not going to keep doing it.

5. Remember that patience is the key to success. Weight loss and better health overall are not going to happen overnight. Give it some time to settle in and welcome even the initial results that will get you to your ultimate goal.

Life is very challenging as it is, but exercise can help you mentally and physically. Stay strong and always move forward!
