Summer is in full swing and so are the outdoor festivities! Whether you’re attending a wedding, barbeque, or just having a fun night out, use these three tips to keep your diet on track this summer season:
1. Don’t arrive hungry. Eating a combo of protein and carbohydrates before you go will keep you satiated. For example, a handful of nuts and dried fruit or a piece of toast with canned tuna or salmon.
2. Watch your alcohol intake. You can still enjoy yourself without alcohol, so avoid it if you can. If you do indulge, make sure to drink a glass of water between each drink.
3. Substitute! Instead of chowing down on all the unhealthy food options, choose to swap them out for others that will have your meal tasting just as great if not better. Replace mayonnaise with avocado, sour cream with Greek yogurt, or sub in whole wheat wraps for bread.
