1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? (Where you’re from, your favorite hobbies, etc.)
I am from Plainview, New York. I have two great children. I was a volunteer firefighter for 10 years in Syosset, New York. My hobbies are cooking and baking but my favorite is running.
2. How did you end up joining Lucille Roberts?
The reason I chose LR as my gym was it was close to home which I thought would keep me going and I wanted a gym that’s main focus was on women. LR did not disappoint me; I really love my body and am so proud of what I achieved.
3. What are some personal fitness goals you have?
I was always got about being fit, but in 2006 I became seriously ill and had 6 major surgeries between 2006 and 2008 that took me 3 years to recover from and also left me with a chronic health condition. After being told I would never be able to have the strength to exercise or run again, I decided in 2012 it was time to reclaim my body back, not only did I want to be fit and healthy I want to love my body again and I guess, prove I could.
4. What do you think is the best thing about Lucille Roberts?
The best thing about LR is how I feel when I am there, it starts from a warm smile at desk and it continues with the instructors who truly care about you and are always willing to help you meet your goals. I have also made wonderful friends there as we are all there for same reason and we support each other.
5. What advice do you have for women who are trying to lose weight and meet their fitness goals?
The advice I give to other women who at times look to me for inspiration is even if you can only do a little bit of exercise it is better than sitting in a chair and if you have a bad day with exercise and eating healthy you always get a clean slate the next day – I give them my motto: NEVER SAY NEVER!
