If you’re like, you tend to get the munchies at work. This can be leading you to add-on a few unwanted extra pounds.
So choose to take charge of your work life by adding these healthy habits into your daily routine. They are bound to help prevent those unnecessary desk-pounds:
1. Take advantage of your lunch break
Instead of hopping on FB or online shopping, choose to be productive! Use your hour to burn some extra calories by going for a jog, walk, or hitting a noon-time yoga class. Sitting all day can be dangerous to your health so make sure you schedule in your workouts to help keep you from missing one.
2. Bring a large salad for lunch
Rather than heading out to lunch with your coworkers, aim to bring a homemade salad every day or everyday you can. This option can be low in calories and full of fiber so you can eat an enormous bowl of veggies without doing damage to your waistline. And you’ll keep a little more money in your pocket.
3. Stock up on healthy snacks in the fridge
So maybe your coworkers like to spoil everyone with some delicious baked goods, but all those goodies can knock you straight off your “eat healthy” path. Do all you can to avoid the temptation by bringing all some goodies of your own — yogurt, cheese sticks, fruit, or cut-up veggies — to keep you on track. You can allow yourself one cheat day if necessary.
4. Don’t forget to brush up
After enjoying your huge salad, healthy snack or coffee, head over to the bathroom to attend to those pearly whites. Aside from helping prevent cavities and bad breath, brushing your teeth will also remind you that you’ve already eaten. Your minty fresh breath will help keep you away from those cupcakes your gal pal just brought in.
5. Drink water all day
As delicious as a Diet Coke sounds, soda is adding tons of calories during your work week. Instead, drink water to keep hydrated and energized throughout the day. Water is not only free of calories, but it’ll give your belly the sensation that it’s full, which can cut down on mindless snacking.
