A popular practice around the world, detoxification is about resting, cleansing, and nourishing your body inside and out. While indulging in your favorite—sometimes unhealthy—foods can seem like a great idea, detoxing is a great way to remove those toxins and nourish your body with healthy nutrients instead. This practice can also help prevent disease and help you maintain optimal health.
Try these natural ways to detox your body to feel healthier, more energized, and focused:
Relax: Food isn’t everything. When detoxing, you want to give your body a rest. Getting enough sleep each night—between seven and nine hours a night—will help rejuvenate your system. You can also practice yoga during your down time to meditate and calm your body.
Go Junk Free: Snacking can be extremely fun, but during your detox you’ll need to steer clear of your pantry. Once you eliminate these—processed foods, refined carbs, and sugars—you’ll find yourself feeling more energized. It might seem hard now, but you’ll see the difference after a few days.
Eat Clean: After cutting out those bad-for-you foods, you’ll have room to snack healthy—whole grains, organic, all-natural, and fresh. You should stock your fridge with fresh fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds, whole grains, etc.
Get Moving: Being active is extremely beneficial for a healthy lifestyle. Doing so will increase your energy throughout the day, give your mood a boost, and help you fight diseases. So get out there and start sweating!
