- Pick a mini bagel (80 calories) instead of a regular medium-sized bagel (240 calories). Difference: 160 calories
- Select 1 oz. (2 tbsp.) of light cream cheese (60 calories) instead of regular (100 calories). Difference: 40 calories
- Replace a bagel and cream cheese with a light, whole wheat English muffin and 2 slices of Jarlsberg Light Swiss cheese. Difference: 220 calories
- Eat two slices of Canadian bacon (90 calories) instead of two slices of regular bacon (250 calories). Difference: 160 calories
- Use light mayonnaise instead of regular. Difference: 50 calories per Tbsp.
- Spray your non-stick pan with cooking spray (6 calories) instead of using a tablespoon of butter or margarine (100 calories). Difference: 94 calories
- Use light butter or margarine (50 calories per Tbsp.) instead of regular (100 calories per Tbsp.). Difference: 50 calories
- Use 1% cottage cheese rather than 4%. Difference: 40 calories per 1/2 cup
- Cut down your portion of rice, pasta or noodles by 1/4 cup. Difference: 45-60 calories per serving
