It can be really easy to forget to drink throughout the day. With all of the tasks and obligations we have to get done, water should be your best friend. I try to carry a water bottle with me at all times to ensure that I keep drinking.
Our bodies are 2/3 water, so once you’re dehydrated, the amount of water in the body has already dropped below what’s needed for normal body function. Scary right?
As easy as it is to forget to drink water, it is even easier to take a few gulps. Become more aware of dehydration before it happens with these tips:
1. You Feel Tired
“Foggy brain” alert! If you start feeling as if you can’t focus and may just fall asleep at your desk, don’t reach for more coffee. Try filling up with some H2O instead. Always try to start your day with some water so that groggy feeling won’t creep up on you.
2. You Have Dry Skin
Dry and flaky skin can come about directly because you may not be drinking enough water. Many people don’t attribute it to this and simply lather on the lotion (guilty). Water is needed to help promote skin circulation at its base so that skin repair doesn’t decrease. Before calling up your doctor, try increasing the amount of water you drink to save a couple bucks.
3. You Have Headaches And Feel Dizzy
Whether you’re working out or not doing much at all, if you suddenly feel dizzy then grab your water bottle and sip. The same for if you feel a headache coming on, drink water! Many people think they should jump directly to eat something, but it is most likely because you haven’t been drinking enough H2O.
These are all signs that you can easily avoid by drinking water. Don’t be that girl to get sent to the hospital because of “dehydration”…cough Lindsay Lohan cough!
