While the holidays are supposed to be a time full of days spent with our families and relaxation, it can also be an extremely stressful and busy time for us all. From running around like crazy people trying to buy the perfect gifts to cooking and baking to prepare for the many holiday parties, we can never seem to slow down and take a breather.
To combat us all going a mile a minute, try using these tips to stay calm and not stress out:
1. Make lists: It can be hard to keep track of everything you need to get done by just using your head. Making lists can come in handy–especially this time of year. Jot down every gift you need to get your loved ones, all of the food you’re making and ingredients you’ll need, and all the other things you need to do to make the holidays great.
2. Think small: The holidays shouldn’t be about how many gifts you receive, it’s about spending time with family and friends and enjoying the time together. This year, try thinking small when you’re buying gifts—it will also save you money!
3. Get in the holiday spirit: Play some good old seasonal music, wrap your presents, drink hot chocolate and focus on the good the holidays bring.
4. Sweat it out: Exercising, if all else fails, could be just what you need to get out your frustration and relieve your stress. Get into a gym-going rhythm to combat your holiday stress.
