Raise your hand if you have a slouching problem! Don’t be ashamed—sitting at a desk all day looking at a computer screen can do that to you. Why do you think the standing and treadmill desks are on the rise? (Thanks, Joanna Coles!)
Not only can standing benefit your body—you’ll have better back posture—but it can also help you in the inspiration department too. According to a Washington University in Saint Louis study, standing triggers the fight-or-flight response. This preps the body to act, making it easier for you to be more engaged and creative throughout the day.
Another plus, you can be less territorial when you’re not stuck sitting in a chair. And that means you’ll be more willing to participate, share your ideas, and more.
Maybe that standing desk is worth it, huh?
