We are so accustomed to eating the regular, old, boring ingredients that aren’t helping your “eat healthy” goal. Many people don’t realize that there are a lot of other options to swap into your meals to get rid of those rundown ones.
Here are some not as healthy ingredients you are able to swap out for others that will have your meal tasting just as great if not better:
White Rice for Quinoa
I love rice, but you have to spice it up once in a while. Quinoa has 9 grams of protein per cup, is high in fiber, delivers oxygen to the blood, which boosts brainpower, and helps cleanse your digestive tract.
Bread for Whole Wheat Wraps
Swap out that hunky piece of bread for a light wrap. Try to look for low carb and whole wheat wraps remembering to keep sizes in mind to control portions.
Sour Cream for Greek Yogurt
Yes, we all know sour cream is delicious on burritos, nachos, etc. However, plain Greek yogurt is an even better alternative that is packed with protein. Try opting for the non-fat variety.
Mayonnaise for Avocado
Mayo made add flavor and taste to your food, but so will avocado! This option adds in healthy fats and all natural flavor. Try it out!
