Fall Green Pear Smoothie Recipe – From Sweet and Strong

Our friend Patricia, the blogger behind health and wellness blog Sweet and Strong, shares this perfect fall smoothie recipe with us. But before we dive into her delicious smoothie, we want to briefly introduce this amazing lady!

Inspired by her sister, Patricia created her blog; Sweet and Strong to teach women how to take care of their bodies through adopting healthy habits. On her blog she shows (of course) the yummy food she makes and eats. She also features her workouts and snippets of her life – husband, adorable kids and dogs included! What Patricia does not share with readers, are recipes that encourage fad diets (Paleo, Atkins, etc). Rather, she features recipes focused around living and eating healthier. She writes and shares her favorite healthy recipes (like the smoothie below), along with the occasional comfort foods and desserts that she simply cannot live without. It’s all about BALANCE.
This smoothie is basically drinking fall in a glass. It combines pear, cinnamon, and almond butter for a delicious and satisfying recipe. 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup (about a handful) spinach
  • 1 medium pear halved and cored
  • 2 tsp almond butter
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (optional)
  • handful of ice
Instructions
  • Place all the ingredients in a high powered blender. Blend until smooth. Sip and enjoy immediately!

While in the summer we enjoy smoothies with strawberries, mangoes, etc, the fall is the perfect time to swap those fruits with seasonal ones. This includes apples, pumpkin, blueberries, or pears. Do you drink smoothies in the fall or winter months? Which do you prefer: pumpkin, pear, or apple?
